Several UPD cluster members were nominated for the 2018 LSE Student Union Teaching Excellence competition. The competition is based on student nominations, and the Student Union administers the  selection process.

Congratulations to Meredith Whitten who was a runner-up for the Award for Inspirational Teaching and to Miranda Iossifidis who was the runner up for the Award for Innovative Teaching. Jordana Ramalho was also nominated. Overall, the Department of Geography and Environment was a runner-up for the Departmental Excellence Award.
