Dr Carwyn Morris, who has recently completed a PhD in Human Geography and Urban Studies and is an incoming Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Manchester China Institute, has published an essay in Made in China journal, titled “The Surveillance Vaccine: Surveillance, Censorship, and the Body under Covid-19”. In this essay, Dr Morris discusses why ramped-up surveillance, which is usually looked upon with suspicion and considered repressive, came to be desired by the public as ‘technologies of vaccination’ in the wake of Covid-19 technologies.
