Lebanon is facing a crisis of historic proportions. In his discussion paper titled, “Urban Violence in War and Peace: Lebanon’s Reconstruction”, Dr Deen Sharp takes a look at how Lebanon’s current predicament is partly rooted in the continuation of the conflict through the reconstruction.

Reconstruction does not equate to the start of a post-war era, as is often assumed to be the case. To understand how reconstruction can be the continuation of violence, is also to see how meaningful political mobilization can try to ensure it contributes to peace
