The Regional Studies Association‘s first ‘International Hour’ webinar of 2022 focuses on Urban Development ‘Korean Style’. It features Professor of Geography and Urban Studies Hyun Bang Shin, who will speak on ‘The Urban Agency of Speculative Urbanisation: the Experience of Korea’. This will explore South Korea’s property-based urban development model, and its relationship with state-led inequalities, neoliberalism and speculative urbanization.
The event is in promotion of Hyun’s 2021 co-edited volume, entitled ‘Exporting Urban Korea? Reconsidering the Korean Urban Development Experience‘.
